President's salutation
It is with great pleasure that I invite you, on behalf of HASIN's Organising Committee and the Board, to this year's conference "Challenges and Perspectives in Nephrology", the Scientific event that will be focusing on the challenges Nephrology faces in Greece and internationally. From this year on, the conference becomes international, and this year it is co-organised by HASIN and EuroPD, the internationally renowned European Society of Peritoneal Dialysis. The event is held in parallel with the Conference "Update in Nephrology", the new annual event established by HASIN that focuses on the presentation of the latest developments in the field of international Nephrology. For the year 2025, the 2 conferences are held in parallel at the premises of the Brown Acropol hotel, a modern venue located in the historic center of Athens.
As always, the main focus in HASIN's conferences is to provide up to date information on new therapies or therapies established in previous healthcare countries that have not yet been implemented in our country, with a perspective for future application in the private sector. In this context, the Scientific Committee has drawn up a high-standard Program, with the participation of distinguished conferences of various specialties from across Greece and abroad. A central topic of this year's conference is the quality of services and patient safety, a topic as relevant as ever, which constitutes a timeless central axis of HASIN's aims and actions. The corresponding session will feature distinguished speakers - representatives of relevant institutions such as the Kidney Care UK, the Greek Agency for Quality Assurance in Health (ODIPY), as well as the British Kidney Association (UKKA). The conference will also include the well-established Masterclass on home dialysis, with the participation of well known colleagues, including representatives and ambassadors of EuroPD, ISN, ISPD, and EDTNA/ERCA, KDIGO and EKHA. The high standard of the meeting is guaranteed by the auspices of both the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) as well as the International Society of Peritoneal Dialysis (ISPD). The recent scientific affiliation with the ISN also conveys particular prestige to HASIN'S activities.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the EuroPD Board, for the trust they put to HASIN to co-organise this high-level event, and personally to its Chair Prof. Simon Davies for the honour to co-chair the event. I also want to thank the distinguished speakers, for the honour to join us at the meeting and for their time, and also my dear
colleagues who participate in the conference, either as delegates, or as members of the Organising and Scientific Committees, speakers, commentators or conference coordinators, for their contribution to the development of the high level of the event. I would like to express my warm thanks to the sponsors of the event for their kind support, as well as to the organising bureau EVENTURE for our impeccable cooperation.
In closing, I wish you an enjoyable, memorable, and productive time at this year's meeting.
